Search Latah County Traffic Court Records
Latah County traffic court records are searched through Idaho's iCourt Portal. Use Smart Search for the case or citation record, Search Hearings for court dates, and Make Payments for a payment lookup. The Latah County District Court page says online payments are made through the iCourt payment portal, while in-person and mail payments go through the local District Court clerk.
Start with the citation number if it is available. Name searches can work, but they may return multiple people or cases. For payment lookup, the portal offers search types for citation number, case number, party name, business name, and driver's license. Desktop or laptop use is recommended for payments because iCourt warns that mobile screens may be difficult for payment tasks.
- Open iCourt and choose Make Payments for a pay-by-citation path, or Smart Search for a broader Latah County traffic court record search.
- Select citation number, case number, party name, business name, or driver's license as the search type.
- Enter the required name, citation, case, date of birth, state, or driver's license fields for that path.
- Review the citation, case status, hearing date, admission or denial status, and fine or payment status shown in the public record.
- Pay, contest, call the clerk, or request court copies based on the court status and the appearance date.
The Idaho Court Data traffic pathway explains the civil infraction trial path and possible outcomes for not-guilty traffic cases.
That state pathway helps explain what happens after a Latah County traffic ticket is denied instead of paid.
Latah County Traffic Courts
Latah County traffic and infraction cases are handled through the District Court and its Magistrate Division. The local District Court page states that a person charged with an infraction by citation may admit the offense by paying the total amount due in person at the clerk's office, by mail to Latah County District Court, or online through iCourt.
One local split is important. Parking tickets issued by the City of Moscow are paid at the Moscow Police Department, not at Latah District Court. The Latah County Prosecutor also says Moscow Police Department misdemeanors and infractions, including parking citations, are handled by the Moscow City Attorney rather than the county prosecutor.
| Office or court | Traffic role | Contact point |
|---|---|---|
| Latah County District Court / Magistrate Division | County traffic infractions, misdemeanor traffic cases, citation payments, denials, trials, and court records | 522 S Adams, Room 119, Moscow, ID 83843; (208) 883-2255 |
| iCourt Portal | Online case search, hearing search, and payment lookup for supported Idaho court cases | mycourts.idaho.gov |
| Moscow Police Department / Moscow City Attorney path | Moscow parking tickets and Moscow Police misdemeanors or infractions | Parking tickets are paid at Moscow Police Department; city attorney phone listed in research as 208-883-7003 |
Latah County Citation Search Fields
The iCourt Make Payments search fields are built for payment lookups, but they also help identify the court traffic record tied to a citation. The strongest path is citation number or case number. Party and driver's license searches require more identifiers and may be more sensitive to spelling or date entry.

What Latah County Traffic Records Show
A Latah County traffic court record is a court case or citation file. It can show the citation number, charge or infraction, court date, plea or admission, denial, trial setting, judgment, fine, payment status, failure-to-pay issue, or failure-to-appear event. It is not the same as a driving history from the Idaho Transportation Department.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Citation or case number | The identifier used to search iCourt, pay, contest, or ask the clerk about the file. |
| Party name | The cited person or business, subject to public-access rules and redactions. |
| Charge or infraction | The alleged traffic offense or civil infraction filed from the citation. |
| Hearing date | The date, time, hearing type, and courtroom when a court appearance is scheduled. |
| Disposition | Whether the matter was paid, dismissed, found not guilty, found guilty, or otherwise resolved. |
| Fine or payment status | Amount due, payment history, or failure-to-pay status where the public portal shows it. |
Note: Public iCourt views omit protected identifiers and sealed entries, even when the citation itself is searchable.
Pay or Contest Latah County Tickets
For an admission, Latah County District Court says the cited person may pay the total amount due in person at the Clerk's Office, by mail to Latah County District Court, 522 S Adams St., Suite 119, Moscow, ID 83843, or online through iCourt. Checks should be payable to District Court. Payment usually functions as an admission on an infraction, so verify the effect before paying if a defense, license issue, or employment issue may matter.
To deny a citation, the person can check the not-guilty box on the reverse side of the citation and mail it so it arrives no later than the appearance date, call the clerk at (208) 883-2255 and enter the denial by phone, or stop by the clerk's office. The clerk sets a trial date and sends written notice to the defendant and prosecutor.
The Idaho Court Assistance Office links statewide self-help resources, including civil infraction materials and Clean Slate Act information.
Those state materials can help a user understand forms and court process, but the local Latah clerk remains the contact for a specific citation due date or denial.
Latah County Traffic Records vs Driver Records
The court traffic record and Idaho driver record are separate files. The court record is created by the citation and court action. The driver record is held by the Idaho Transportation Department and may show license history, reported convictions or actions, and license status, depending on the record type requested.
| Record type | Source | What it shows | How to access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Court traffic record | Latah County District Court / iCourt | Citation or case number, party, charge, hearing, plea/admission/denial, disposition, fine, and payment status. | iCourt, courthouse kiosk, or Latah County District Court clerk. |
| Idaho Driver License Record | Idaho Transportation Department | Driver license history, convictions/actions reported to ITD, and license status or suspension-related data by record type. | Online Tyler Idaho record or ITD paper Driver License Record Request. |
The Idaho Transportation Department driver records page explains state driver record fees and request limits.
Use ITD when the need is license history or status, and use the court when the need is the citation case file or certified court disposition.
Latah County Traffic Record Fees
The research did not locate a separate Latah court-copy fee table for traffic case documents. For court copies and certified dispositions, contact the Latah County District Court clerk. State driver records have published ITD fees, and recorder copy fees apply only to county recorded documents, not to the court citation file.
| Item | Amount or rule |

Latah County Failure to Appear
Failure to pay or failure to appear can turn a traffic matter into a more serious court problem. The warrant research did not locate a public Latah County active-warrant list. For warrant-related traffic issues, use iCourt to check the case record, use Search Hearings for upcoming court dates, and call the District Court clerk about bench-warrant or appearance questions.
If bond is set after an arrest, Latah jail instructions say bail is brought to the Court Clerk's Office first, and the receipt is then taken to the Sheriff's Office. After hours, bond can be posted at the Sheriff's Office front window. Weekend or after-hours bond processing has a separate $10 processing fee.
Latah County Infraction Set Aside
Idaho Court Assistance provides forms for "Set Aside Default on Civil Infraction," including instructions, a motion and affidavit, and a proposed order. This can matter when a person missed a civil infraction deadline or defaulted and needs to ask the court for relief. The forms are statewide, but filing and case questions still route to the court that handled the citation.
The Idaho Court Assistance forms page is the official source for current statewide form packets.
Confirm the case number and county before filing a set-aside request, because forms must match the court record that entered the default.
Latah County DUI and CDL Records
DUI and some traffic-related misdemeanor matters are criminal court records, not simple civil infraction records. A DUI case may involve criminal charges, bond, plea, sentencing, probation, license consequences, and state driver-record actions. For the full criminal case file, use the Latah County criminal court records page and iCourt case search.
Commercial driver questions should be checked against the court file and ITD driver record. The ITD online record contains three years unless a CDL employer option or paper request is used for longer or original issue date information. An online DLR also does not include vehicle accident information.
Latah County Traffic Access Rules
Traffic court records follow the Idaho court-record access framework. Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32 controls public access to court records, while sealed entries, protected identifiers, and confidential material do not appear in public portal results. County agency records outside the court file may fall under the Idaho Public Records Act.
Key access point: A traffic citation record may be public in iCourt, but a state driver record must be requested from ITD and has its own fees, identifiers, and limits.
